As of March 17th, Amazon began prioritizing essential products to support the massive uptick in demand for health- and immune-related products. The COVID-19 product demand allowed for many purveyors of the Health category to increase their margins and sales revenue. This, however, was faced with “Overstock” warnings when creating new shipments on the Amazon Seller Central site. This is due to limited space in Amazon’s warehouses, causing delays in receiving inventory shipments and quantity available for sale.

This obviously plays a huge role in the Best Seller Rankings of each ASIN you are trying to ship and sell through. As of now, Amazon still has inbound inventory restrictions across all its ASINs, whether they are essential items for the COVID-19 virus or not. We can safely assume that these problems will continue to arise throughout the Prime Day preparations and Q4 of 2020. Moving forward, we advise on keeping inventory acquisitions lower in order to hedge risk away from not being able to send inventory into Amazon’s warehouses.
